At dawn, Major General Janson "Durr" Boyles, Chairman of NGAUS, Major General Francis M. McGinn, President of NGAUS, and Gen. James W. Ring, Adjutant General of Virginia, paid their respects to the men who landed on Omaha Beach 80 years ago today. Each spoke to the bravery displayed on June 6, 1944, and the days after, and a moment of silence was held in remembrance of those who rest in Normandy. The representatives also laid a wreath and flowers at the water line and at the National Guard Memorial Monument.

Let's take the opportunity to recognize all those mom's who serve -- whether on active duty, reserve, national guard, as an Army civilian, or in support of their spouse and children. They are a huge part of #ArmyLife and deserve a great deal of thanks. Happy Mothers Day from the U.S. Army!
