  • We're wishing everyone not only a Happy Halloween, but also a very happy Dale Day! After 34 years and 9 months, Dale Kostelny, the VMHC Manager of Exhibition Production, is celebrating his last official day as a VMHC employee before his much-deserved retirement. ? In Dale's honor, VMHC staff surprised him with a slew of festivities, such as: ? EAT LIKE DALE: Staff enjoyed some of Dale's favorite foods together, including barbecue, buffalo wings, pecan pie, Cheez-Its, and, as one staff member described them, "protein bars that taste like cardboard." ? DRESS LIKE DALE: The halls were filled with a parade of Dales as staff put their own spin on his wardrobe classics, including cowboy boots, Western-themed bolo ties, and well-fitted t-shirts and hiking shoes. ? FIND THE DALE: Staff got ready to hone their observational skills in a Dale-themed scavenger hunt, seeking out 34 "Dales" throughout the staff areas of the building. ? Though we know he aims to stay out of the spotlight and let his (amazing) work speak for him, we had to take this opportunity to illuminate how much we appreciate all that Dale has done over the past 3+ decades to contribute to the VMHC, from building exceptional gallery experiences for visitors to always greeting fellow staff members with a grin and a quippy hello. We'll miss you, Dale, and will celebrate being "Still Employed!" as you begin your next adventure!
