A Certified Interior Designer, Certified Facility Manager, and LEED Accredited Professional, Virginia is quick to credit her educational experience at Cornell University with providing the tools for success in the Design and Facilities Management fields. She started her own consulting practice, Virginia Weida Designs, in June 2006. Prior to this, she was a Principal with The Design Alliance Architects in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a firm providing Architectural, Interior Design and Facilities Management Services. Virginia Weida Designs LLC is pleased to announce that Founder & CEO Virginia Weida was named the American Society of Interior Designers - ASID 2024 Advocate of the Year on August 13, 2024. Weida is a committed design professional and successful entrepreneur who has dedicated her career to advocating for the interior design profession, supporting other women, and improving the community. Her passion for advancing the profession starts with ASID and extends to other organizations. Weida joined the ASID Advocate by Design Council in 2018 and became Chair in 2022. She oversaw the Society's largest volunteer group of over 35 ASID members nationwide to advocate for and educate on the impact of interior design within the built environment to protect the health, safety, welfare, and well-being of the building occupants and the public.
