Virginia Transformer delivered, installed, and energized a new transformer for the city of Newark, Delaware. The 10/14 MVA, 34.5-13.09 kV unit serves as a replacement transformer for the city’s substation, helping to power the local community. This unit demonstrates our ongoing commitment to strengthening the nation’s power grid and supporting essential infrastructure. We look forward to seeing the contribution our transformer will bring to Newark’s energy reliability and resilience. Congratulations to all involved!

In addition to building the most reliable transformers in the industry in the shortest lead times, our employees are also very creative (Our customers know that). We often hold events and contests for our employees and their families as a way of celebrating our extended communities and the connections we have to each other and Virginia Transformer. We held a Pumpkin Painting Contest among our U.S. plants (Pocatello, Rincon, and Roanoke) covering three categories: for employees; spouses/significant others; and their children. John K. John, our Technical Director, has been awarded Life Membership by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)! This prestigious recognition is granted to individuals who have been constructive members of IEEE and whose work has made a significant positive impact on the growth and development of the electrical engineering industry. Life Members are renowned for their leadership, volunteerism, and commitment to advancing technology for humanity. IEEE is the world's largest technical professional organization.?The IEEE's mission is to advance the profession, promote the development of electrotechnology through: ? establishing best practices; creating industry standards; and encouraging innovation by collaborating on world-changing technologies. John’s dedication and expertise have been invaluable to VTC, our Customers, and the industry since his first day at the company on April 19th, 1993. Over the course of his career, John has conducted groundbreaking research, authored numerous papers, solved customer challenges, and led the engineering department to design increasingly reliable power transformers, leading to the impressive 60-year lifespan of our units today. As part of the team that has shaped and strengthened Virginia Transformer’s reputation as the industry leader in transformer design and manufacturing, John plays a key role in establishing best practices and operating procedures. ?Under his guidance, the team developed cutting-edge designs that have set the standard for transformer durability and performance. Now, 31 years later, John’s leadership continues to inspire excellence and innovation at Virginia Transformer. The Life Membership award serves as official acknowledgement of John’s meaningful and sustained contributions to IEEE and the electrical engineering field as a whole. Congrats John!

To keep up with rising demand and continue delivering state-of-the-art transformers to our customers in the shortest lead times in the industry, we recently installed a second vapor-phase drying (VPD) oven at our Roanoke facility. These ovens are critical to our manufacturing process as they eliminate moisture from the core and coil, which increases the efficiency and lifespan of our units. This additional oven provides redundancy to our operations and doubles our drying capacity, allowing us to continue meeting the needs of our customers by manufacturing the industry’s finest transformers designed to have a 60-year lifespan.

Finishing up a busy few days at World Hydrogen Week in Copenhagen. Virginia Transformer presented during the sessions on the importance of transformers in hydrogen production; we recapped the first day’s highlights for attendees; and we hosted a cocktail reception for all attendees. Not to mention the series of customer meetings we held throughout the week. Stay tuned. We’ll share additional details on what we shared. World Hydrogen Week is this week in Copenhagen. Virginia Transformer will present the importance of transformers in helping to accelerate hydrogen use across the world. We’ll also host a cocktail reception for the more than 3,000 delegates, so if you’re in Copenhagen please join us.

We held a celebration at our Rincon, Georgia facility to recognize our more than 600 employees and their dedication to Quality. The plant employees have gone more than a year having all transformers achieve First Pass Yield on the initial testing…a remarkable achievement by the team!

Joshua Yun, SVP Sales and Marketing, participated in a panel discussion on Effectively Strategizing Power Supply for Electolyzer Operations at the World Hydrogen Leaders’ World Electrolysis North America conference in Boston today. After pointing out how vital it is for producers to be planning today for how they will secure their power transformer needs, Joshua invited all attendees to join Virginia Transformer Corp for a cocktail. As you can see, most attendees took him up on the offer!

Joshua Yun, our SVP of Sales and Marketing, will be speaking at the World Hydrogen Leaders conference in Boston this week on power solutions and challenges as we work to help the expansion of hydrogen in North America and beyond.
