We are now less than 6 weeks away from the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame’s 2025 Induction Weekend events, and today we would like to highlight one of our premier events of the weekend, "Breakfast With Champions"! Breakfast With Champions is our family friendly event, where attendees get to enjoy breakfast with the new class, as well as participate in a Q&A, and autograph session. Inductees have heard all sorts of questions at past BWC events, and we hope that continues this year! Its a great kickoff to a special day, and is the perfect event to bring youth and student-athletes to, as they are able to get up close and personal with some of the best figures in Virginia sports history. Adding to our 2025 Induction Weekend excitement, we are thrilled to announce the recipient for the 2024 Steve Guback Sportsperson of the Year Award is Gretchen Walsh from Virginia Swimming and Diving In 2024, Walsh won 7 ACC and NCAA Championships, propelling the Cavaliers to their 4th consecutive NCAA Team Championship. On the international stage, Walsh brought home 4 Olympic medals (2 gold, 2 silver), from the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Walsh will be honored during the 2025 Induction Ceremony, Saturday, April 26 at the Westin Hotel in Town Center of Virginia Beach: https://lnkd.in/eMYpHGjt Walsh joins the Norfolk Tides as recipients of the Sportsperson of the Year award. This is the second year the award has been presented.
