A bittersweet end to #portweek. The #Monarchs went down fighting to the #Dukes. Thank you to The Port of Virginia, the Virginia Maritime Association, and the Commonwealth Center for Advanced Logistics Systems for the wonderful collaborations. A week depicting the role of the Port and highlighting the needs for supply chain and logistics talent in the region - from panel discussions to maritime photo contests to #portday game celebrations, I had a fantastic time. Privileged to work with a great group of colleagues - Dr. Ricardo Ungo , Prof. Sara Russell Riggs , Dr. Rafael Diaz , Cmdr Elspeth McMahon - YOU ROCK !!! Progress continues at America's most capable offshore wind hub. Last week, Dominion Energy successfully completed its first season of monopile installations for the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project, the largest offshore wind farm under construction in the US. The Port of Virginia has invested $220 million to transform Portsmouth Marine Terminal into an offshore wind hub to support the project and this growing industry.
