关于我们
LISC Virginia works with residents and partners to forge resilient and inclusive communities – great places to live, work, visit, do business and raise families. For more than 30 years, LISC Virginia’s work with community organizations to revitalize under-served Richmond-area neighborhoods has led to physical improvements, safer streets, increased property values and highly engaged residents. We support community development organizations with grants, loans and expertise to help them construct businesses, community centers and affordable homes in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods.

Sometimes, a great conversation can stimulate ideas and inspiration for a long time after it’s over. That’s what it was like talking with David Dworkin, the president and CEO of the National Housing Conference, our country’s oldest and broadest affordable housing coalition. He invited me on his podcast, “Beyond Four Walls: Conversations on Affordable Housing,” and like its name suggests, David goes well beyond the nuts and bolts of housing development (which we certainly discussed, as it pertains to cities from Charlotte to Dallas to Detroit, where we’re both from). We talked about so many of the areas that Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) invests in, to fuel economic mobility and wellbeing in our communities—good jobs and job training, home ownership, economic development, and financial education and inclusion. I hope you’ll give it a listen and let me know what you think: https://lnkd.in/erK6uX2B
