GeoVirginia committee members, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and conference attendees can enjoy a well rounded small town experience with us at our GeoVirginia conference. It's not just a conference, it's an experience! Our team of committee members work together for 18 months (for every conference) to host this event. Our goal for every conference is to provide a "Lessons Learned in Geotechnical Engineering" experience covering a wide range of geotechnical topics. Topics can include the development of new technologies, case studies, and current project site involvements. Our speakers come from all over the globe to be at our conference! While at our conference, everyone enjoys multiple networking events that include a pre-conference Sunday Social event (speaker meet and greet), optional outings such as golfing, boating, walking tours, etc., and two evening social events - all while enjoying the best local cuisine from Smithfield, Virginia! By the time you have finished attending one of our geotechnical conferences, you will feel like you have a very large extended family! ?? We do everything together and include everyone in all of our conference experiences! Our next GeoVirginia Conference is currently set for March 17th to 19th, 2025 in Smithfield, Virginia! ?? We have excavated, braced, shored, sheared, factored, sloped, and stabilized to the end of our Ground Improvement Short Course Week in Smithfield, VA! We need to take a moment and thank ?? a long list of people! Thank you to the Town of Smithfield for providing us with the venue and catering for our geotechnical event. Thank you to Roger Failmezger, Jeramy Ashlock, J. Brian Anderson ????, and Morgan A. Eddy for their event and speaker coordination! Roger Failmezger also went above and beyond with his hospitality - he is not only a great engineer, but so down to earth and an all around great guy!
