Your voice is needed to ensure its passage! Here’s why the EXPLORE Act matters: Investing in Local Communities: The bill authorizes the Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership, providing funding for landscape architects to create or revitalize parks in underserved neighborhoods. Supporting Veterans and Military Families: It enhances recreation experiences on federal lands by improving disability access and assistive technology, with contributions from landscape architects and other professionals. Connecting Kids with Nature: It continues the Every Kid Outdoors program, granting all 4th graders and their families free access to federally managed parks, lands, and waters. ? The EXPLORE Act has already passed the House—now, it’s up to the Senate. Make sure your Senators hear from you. Take action today! A proposal is going through DCR for acceptance to develop an accessible trail at Pocahontas?State Park. The team is interested in working with local landscape architects who could be a willing partner in creating concept drawings as the design inspirations/themes/directions begin to solidify.
