?? Women account for 72% of family caregivers, dedicating an average of 21.3 hours per week to caring for loved ones. Their selfless commitment extends to the professional realm, where women lead and staff numerous home care agencies across Virginia and West Virginia. Many home care agencies in our states proudly hold Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) WBENC or Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) certifications, highlighting the significant role of women-owned businesses in this vital industry. ?? To all the women who educate, inspire, and care for generations: ?? Thank you for moving us forward together. Your dedication transforms houses into homes and ensures quality care for those in need. #WomensHistoryMonth #WomenInHomeCare #VAHC" #HOMECARE #CAREGIVERS #HOMEHEALTHCARE

Home health care isn’t just about regulations and policies—it’s about people. It’s about the families who get to keep their loved ones close. The children with complex medical needs who receive care in the comfort of their homes. The young accident survivor rebuilding their strength without hospital walls. Home health care isn’t just for those aging in place. It’s for anyone who needs compassionate, skilled care where it matters most—at home. Take a moment to read real stories of lives changed: Read Here Because at the heart of everything we do—is them. ??? #HomeHealthCare #CareAtHome #BecauseItMatters #VAHC #PatientStories

?? The future of home health care in West Virginia is at a crossroads. The proposed repeal of the Certificate of Need (CON) program—which regulates the development of healthcare facilities—was narrowly voted down (13-12) in the House Health Committee. However, Governor Patrick Morrisey has vowed to keep pushing for its repeal. ?? Supporters argue that eliminating CON will reduce healthcare costs and encourage competition. ?? What we know is that the risk is great that ?rural healthcare access could suffer, making it harder for home health agencies to serve those in need. ?? What You Can Do: ?? Reach out to your state representatives—let them know – keep CON! ?? Stay informed as new bills may emerge. ?? Advocate for home health care and ensure your voice is heard. Your engagement matters! Visit www.vahc.org to contact your representatives and follow updates. #WVHealthCare #CertificateOfNeed #WVLegislature #HomeHealthCare #StayInformed #TakeAction

?? Medicaid Reimbursement Delays Are a Huge Challenge—VAHC Is Here to Help ?? For home health care agencies, getting reimbursed for services rendered shouldn’t be an uphill battle—but too often, it is. Delayed or denied Medicaid payments create serious financial strain for agencies that are already working tirelessly to care for patients. Two common reasons reimbursements may be delayed or rejected: ?? Billing errors & documentation gaps – Even minor mistakes in coding or missing details can trigger denials. ?? Prior authorization & eligibility issues – Changes in Medicaid requirements or lapses in approvals can lead to unexpected claim denials. We know the ins and outs of Medicaid reimbursement. VAHC has successfully helped many agencies recover lost payments—and we’re here to support you, too. ?? Facing payment delays? Let’s talk. We know the ropes and can help you navigate the process. #HomeHealthCare #MedicaidReimbursement #VAHC #WeKnowTheRopes #FinancialStability?

?? ?? Virginia General Assembly's Proposed Budget: Key Impacts on Home Health Care ?? The Virginia General Assembly has recently proposed a budget with several provisions affecting home health care. Governor Glenn Youngkin is currently reviewing these budget proposals. The Governor is expected to finalize the budget in the coming weeks. ?? While the formal public hearings have concluded, Virginians can still share their perspectives by contacting the Governor's office directly or reaching out to their local legislators. This allows citizens to express their views on budgetary matters, including those affecting home health care, even after the official public comment period has ended. #virginia #governor #Legislation # getinvolved #citizeninvolvement #homecareagency #homecare #homecarelegislation #medicaid #medicare

The best way to protect margins... Denials and delays in reimbursements continue to be one of the first problems we tackle with our members. We use a custom approach for each one, as that is important to drive results. We have learned many lessons, and are focused on eliminating the number of denials and delays for our members in the first place. That’s’ the best way to protect margins. #reimbursements #medicaidreimbursement #medicaid #virginia #homehealthcare #homecare #homecareagency #westvirginia #smallbusiness

The CMS Special Focus Program... It resulted from many, including VAHC, advocating for more rigor around the quality of hospice care. Now we want to be part of bringing improvement to the hospice marketplace. The Program was finalized in the 2024 home health payment rule and is designed to identify poor performing hospices and mandate quality improvement. Join us Feb 25th for an hour workshop to understand the program and what you need to do to adjust and improve if you have been selected, ... and what you can?do to avoid being identified for the program. This event is open to members and non members. https://lnkd.in/e7ec6J5f #hospicecare #hospiceservices #homehealthcare #homehealthpaymentrule #medicare #medicaid #hospicecareadvocacy #virginia #westvirginia
