You know, when people ask me “what’s your plan if this startup of yours doesn’t work out the way you want it to?”, all I do is smile, and say “I’ll try something else!” Oftentimes, we keep a “back-up plan” or an alternative, to keep us safe, protected, but life doesn’t work that way! Only by failing, falling, losing, do we truly understand the value of winning, of succeeding. That’s the only way we can get back uo, pick ourselves up and get to work to building ourselves! So, the next time someone asks you the question, do the same! Cause, that’s all life is about! Try, fail and try again!!! P.S. I’m keeping it short this time, so enjoy your weekend!!

Do you know what’s the No. 1 thing that messes up most entrepreneurs…? It’s complacency more often than procrastination!!?? Don’t get me wrong; procrastination is HORRIBLE! However, when entrepreneurs build a business, and start getting good influx of customers through their doors, they start getting complacent, and stop putting much effort into innovating or building! That’s the WORST thing that can ever happen to a business!! Take BlackBerry as a brilliant case study! In the 2000s, they DOMINATED the smartphone industry. Their “BBM” - BlackBerry Messenger (only Gen Z’s will get this) was all the craze!! No one even expected anyone to compete with them, forget erasing them off the map!! But what happens?? A genius, who started in his garage tinkering on computers, took on BlackBerry with his revolutionary product, and became Steve Jobs!! 2000s: BlackBerry market share - 40% 2010s: BlackBerry market share - <1% This just tells us, NEVER be complacent!! Always strive to make your product better and keep innovating! As the law of the jungle says: “Move forward, or die!”

One of the things I learnt most recently….? It is something most aspiring entrepreneurs often forget/overlook, but it is this: “Product enhancement is always customer driven”!! It is such a powerful, and understated fact of the product business! Often, entrepreneurs think the have to greet their product closer to perfection, or close to what they believe their customers will want, right from the get-go! This, they spend their entire time working on it, perfecting it and obsessing over it, never truly taking it to market! Some of them often lose the battle right there, as they don’t realise the product will go through many iterations, and most of them will be through customers’ critical feedback. So, my fellow entrepreneurs: If you’re starting out, or are planning to, don’t wait for the so-called “perfect moment” or “perfect product”! Start now, and get customers to drive your product towards perfection!! (P.S. credit to Rajiv Dalal , who taught me this incredible lesson!)

You know what’s the most surprising thing I found when starting my own company?? Not the sleepless nights…. Not the constant stress….. not even all the challenges I face with in development, marketing, sales, finance or any other aspect of business I never knew about before starting Virality…? This was by far the most surprising thing I noticed about myself, when starting this journey!! It was, how varied my days would be! Some days, I would have enormous amounts of work, not ending in a typical 9-5 fashion…. And sometimes, I’d have days where all I’d do is NOTHING!! It’s crazy, how many days, all I did was stress myself out on thinking about the business, but actually having nothing to do!! Everyone else were working furiously on the product, and all I had to do was sit back, and observe!!! But that’s the game! Sometimes, the ball may not be with you, but you have to track it, and assist the star player to get the ball into the finish goal!! (Sorry, a bit of an English football analogy here!??) So, if you’re a fellow entrepreneur, and some days, you feel like you’re doing nothing, and you start to believe that you’re progressing nowhere……remember, we all have those days!! If you keep at it, and persevere though those days, you’ll come out stronger & victorious!! Go get them!! Let’s go!! ????Stay tuned!!??

Do you know what’s the biggest lesson I’ve learnt, building a startup at 23?… All the basic lessons stays true, which you will hear from almost anyone going through the same journey. However, what most people don’t tell you about entrepreneurship is: You don’t know what you don’t know!!?? Seems simple enough to understand, but it’s quite hard to actually figure out what it means!?? When entrepreneurs start, we often think we exactly know what it takes to build a startup. We dive headfirst into this and take on any problems that comes towards us, thinking we’ll overcome it with ease. But the reality, is FAR from it! In the actual scenario, we realise that we actually may have knowledge about certain aspects of this, but soon understand how out-of-depth we are when looking at the picture in whole! That’s why, it’s paramount to remember 3 things in entrepreneurship: 1. Stay humble - as we don’t know everything about everything 2. Listen to others - as someone may have great knowledge in their own field 3. Don’t hesitate to ask for help - as this gives you the opportunity to learn Stay on your amazing path, and stay tuned!!?? Hello everyone!! I’ve never really been active on here that much, but thought I should change it, so here I am! For some context, I’m an entrepreneur, who’s building a company for the past 3 years.
