In a devastating airstrike by warplanes yesterday, Sunday, December 1, 2024, Yamen Sami lost 12 members of his family. Yamen, one of the kindest and bravest paramedics in our Idlib team, was on the frontlines from the very first moments of the relentless bombing, responding to evacuate and treat the wounded—only to find himself among the victims of this tragedy. While Moayad was performing his humanitarian duty of rescuing the injured, he discovered the unimaginable: the missile had struck his own family. His sister, her daughter, her son, and her granddaughter all lost their lives, leaving behind a void that words cannot describe. Little Lin, seen in the picture, lost 12 of her loved ones, left utterly alone in this world. Despite the unbearable tragedy weighing on his heart, Moayad continues his humanitarian work. He buries his tears and grief, bids farewell to his loved ones, and moves forward with the belief that reality can change, knowing there is no time to rest in the face of such a dire humanitarian crisis.
