Now, we are working in partnership to improve the availability and accessibility of family planning (FP) products and services nationwide through the Family Planning and Supply Chain Strengthening project. This initiative directly supports the government’s “Gratuité” program by addressing persistent supply chain challenges—ensuring that more people have consistent access to the essential health products they need. ?? There's no silver bullet to increase medicine availability across Africa. However, enhancing local private sector capacity can strengthen public health supply chains, by increasing collaboration with local private pharmaceutical distributors, for instance. In this first-of-its kind benchmarking report by VillageReach and the APDA - African Pharmaceutical Distribution Association assess how African countries are integrating private distributors into public health supply chains and what drivers increase their participation.
