VillageReach transforms health care delivery to reach everyone.
关于我们
VillageReach is a non-profit global health innovator that develops, tests, implements and scales new solutions to critical health system challenges in low-resource environments, with an emphasis on strengthening the “last mile” of healthcare delivery. VillageReach combines expertise across public health, technology, and business to bring life-saving innovation – new systems, programs and technologies – to scale and sustainability in the world’s most underserved communities. Effective solutions require a deep understanding of local health systems, a diverse set of skills and expertise, and strong relationships on the ground in order to achieve sustainable impact. More than a decade of studying and working in low-resource communities around the globe drives our approach— focus on solutions that address the most critical barriers to improving health outcomes in LMICs: healthcare accessibility, lack of infrastructure, information availability, and human resource constraints.

By 2030, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates a worldwide deficit of 10 million health workers. Community health workers (CHWs) play a crucial role in bridging these gaps, supporting the Sustainable Development agenda, and ensuring health equity for all. To be effective in their roles, CHWs must be treated like the professionals they are; including making sure that, they are properly SKILLED like all health professionals. VillageReach is proud to be a core partner with the Ministry Of Health Malawi, including to ensure CHW professionalization. Today, we joined various stakeholders and partners such as Amref Health Africa in Malawi, mothers2mothers Malawi, Last Mile Health Malawi, Partners In Health Malawi, Foccad Malawi, and thousands of others to celebrate the 2024 National Community Health Day. This event marked the grand graduation of community Health Surveillance Assistants (HSAs) and the launch of a one-year certificate-training program for HSAs in community health in Malawi. The Honorable Halima Daudi (MP), Deputy Minister of Health for Malawi, was the Guest of Honor at the event. She also took the time to interact at the VillageReach Pavilion, where we presented our collaborative efforts and showcased the Supportive Supervision Tool, highlighting how we are using digital tools to empower Supervisors, CHWs and strengthening the immunization program. CHWs need adequate training, including on transformative digital tools, to do their jobs well!? ? What an incredible 3 days at Mozilla Festival House in Zambia! This week was all about connection, collaboration, and rethinking how AI and technology can truly serve people and the planet. With 300+ amazing attendees, the energy was unmatched—from curated safe spaces to deep-dive discussions that left us all inspired. The Philanthropy Summit was a highlight for me, hearing directly from funders about what’s working (and what’s not) when implementing tech solutions in Africa. But today’s session by the Skoll Foundation on "How AI is Shaping Social Innovation in Africa" stole the show—real, honest conversations about responsible AI and the importance of centring people in this ever-evolving space. Huge shoutout to the Mozilla Foundation for creating a space where young leaders feel seen, heard, and inspired. We need more moments like this to come together, learn from each other, and shape a future that works for everyone.
