We are thrilled to be honored by Healthy Family Project as we stand strong among a group of like minded fresh produce suppliers along with our valued retail partner Publix Super Markets who pioneered the annual Produce for Kids Campaign. Each year this campaign benefits the Feeding America Food Bank where our collective efforts helped to raise $152,000! We also had the pleasure this year to support Healthy Family Project, with their inaugural Carry the Cause initiative where Village Farms Greenhouse Grown was able to direct support to MANNA FoodBank - Asheville NC to help with the recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene.? Employee Spotlight: Ryan Malley – The Master of Moving Freshness! Meet Ryan Malley, our Logistics Manager at Village Farms Greenhouse Grown—the man behind ensuring our fresh tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers make it to grocery store shelves on time and in perfect condition. And when we say on time, we mean it—Ryan and his incredible team boast an impressive 98.5% on-time delivery record! Not too shabby, considering the sheer volume of fresh produce they move daily. Ryan has been a problem-solving powerhouse in this role for an amazing 19 years! His journey in logistics started in the Navy, where he trained for 10 years—so making things run smoothly is practically second nature to him. The Art of the Perfect Delivery Ryan thrives on planning and precision. His favorite challenge? Figuring out how to strategically load trucks while juggling multiple customer deliveries and navigating the best routes. And let’s not forget the curveballs—truck breakdowns, bad weather, last-minute changes—you name it. But with solid communication and a rockstar team, Ryan keeps everything moving. So, what’s his secret sauce? A solution-based mindset! Ryan believes that staying positive, listening intently, and always looking for the best possible outcome makes all the difference. This approach even carries over into his home life, where his daughters have fittingly dubbed him "The Voice of Reason." (We’d argue he’s also the voice of efficiency!) The Heart of Village Farms When asked what keeps him motivated, Ryan doesn’t hesitate—the people. “To me, working here is like being in a very close family,” he shares. His dedication to the team and passion for what he does are what make him such a valuable part of the Village Farms family. She officially joined our Village Farms Greenhouse Grown family in June 2016, turning her lifelong passion for plants and food into a meaningful career. From day one, Abigail’s hands-on, active approach to farming has perfectly fit the greenhouse lifestyle. Growing is second nature for Abigail. “Farming is about as hands-on as it gets,” she often says. Every new day in the greenhouse brings its share of unpredictability—weather, markets, and crop conditions can all shift without warning—but that’s what keeps her on her toes. She thrives on brainstorming solutions and improvements, and seeing those ideas come to life is one of her favorite rewards. Abigail also finds inspiration in her teammates. Watching everyone band together to keep plants healthy and productive year-round—ultimately filling cases with vibrant, juicy tomatoes—fuels her passion and commitment.
