Members of the South Shore Fire Department were recognized last week by Ascension Wisconsin for exceptional responses to two incidents in February involving people experiencing heart attacks. SSFD paramedics assessed the patients' conditions, called the cardiac alerts in to Ascension-All Saints Emergency Department, and transported them quickly. Both patients recovered and were back home within two days. Thank you to the SSFD Med 8 and Engine 8 crews for the difference you made in these patients’ lives, and congratulations on the recognition from Ascension for your "teamwork, professionalism, commitment to excellence, and dedication to the community."

The Mount Pleasant Police Department is going #Viral with a sweet story! ?? Community policing is more than just responding to calls, it's also about building relationships. Officers Gardinier and Ostergaard proved this when they were dispatched to a 911 call from a young resident with an ice cream emergency. ?? The story quickly gained attention on the Mount Pleasant Police Department Facebook page. www.facebook.com/mppdwi? With nearly 1 million views, this story captured the attention of local media. The officers and residents got a special feature on FOX6 Milwaukee, WITI-TV.
