The Village of Lisle is seeking a professional to join the Development Services Department. The Building Official enforces the Village’s building code which includes the location, design, materials, constructions, alteration, repair, equipment, maintenance, use, occupancy, removal and demolition of the buildings, structures and appurtenances. In addition, the position performs a broad range of building, permitting and code administrative functions, including plan reviews, building inspections, code administration, interpretation, and code compliance. The position works directly with property owners, architects, contractors, builders, and residents to explain code requirements, answer code-related questions and diagnose and resolve project- specific permitting and construction related problems. This is a FLSA exempt position with an excellent benefit package. The hiring salary range for this position is $81,575-112,166 DOQ. The expected hiring salary is $81,575-$96,871. Lisle Mayor Chris Pecak is pleased to announce that James R. Kruger has been appointed to serve as the Village’s Temporary Chief of Police. Unanimous confirmation of his appointment took place during the August 19, 2024 Village of Lisle Board meeting. He will assume all duties and responsibilities of the position as well as assist the Village with conducting a recruitment and selection of a more permanent appointment. Kruger, who has served as Police Chief for the Villages of East Dundee, Oak Brook, Roselle and Winfield, has more than 40 years of law enforcement experience. Since retiring from the East Dundee Police Department at the end of 2023, he has served as Director of Law Enforcement Relations with BluePoint Alert Solutions, a rapid alert technology system provider. He began his career as a police officer for the Village of Carpentersville in 1984, rising to the rank of Commander in 2003. Kruger holds a Master of Science degree in Managerial Leadership from National-Louis University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management and Leadership from Judson University. He is designated as a Certified Chief by the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police. He is also the receipt of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police President’s Award in 2021 and Police Chief of the Year in 2022.
