Discouraged by traditional retirement home options, this South Bay couple found a preferred solution for aging in place: a thoughtfully designed ADU in their own backyard. "We decided if we could stay in the community, have our friends close and not have to change our bank or hospital, that was an interesting choice," the homeowner shared. In the short term the ADU provides a cozy hosting haven, in the long term it will provide the perfect downsized option for the couple to continue living on their property with a caregiver close by in the primary home.
