Yesterday I talked about how hard enterprise sales is. Today, I got the numbers to prove it. This graphic is just one deal for Vigil. Months of back and forth. Dozens of touchpoints. More stakeholders than a...than a...more steakholders than a store that sells charcoal grills! At one point, I thought we had the deal closed. Then procurement showed up and said, “Not so fast there, feller.” So we did another round of approvals. Then legal got involved. Then armed security. Then people would start to appear in my dreams and demand our SOC II documents but written in hieroglyphics. Anyways. Enterprise sales isn’t a sprint. It’s not even a marathon. It’s some sort of incorporeal exercise of will that ought to be measured outside the confines of time and space. But hey, we closed it. And now? Now I start all over again!
