I am filled with emotion from this milestone accomplishment. My first ever designed formal wear collection debuting at the Infinity of Coco Chanel show this past weekend ???? thank you to Olga Kwasniewski for producing an amazing show at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston . This is one to remember, you are incredible! ?? For those who don’t know me, my name is Dina, and I’ve been a part of the bridal and occasion wear industry for over a decade. I’m the proud owner of Vieira Luxe, a boutique nestled in downtown Nashua, NH, where we offer affordable and inclusive luxury occasion wear for all. Today, I was thrilled to present my debut collection, La Fleur, from my personal design brand, Vieira Luxe Couture. The name Vieira holds deep significance to me, as it comes from my Azorean Portuguese family name, honoring my grandmother and mother, who taught me the craftsmanship I carry with me today. When I first shared the name with my family, they pronounced Luxe as Luz, and in that moment, I smiled and said, “Yes, you’re right—it is the ‘Light of Vieira.’” And so, , I am proud to share that light with all of you. From a young age, I was captivated by fashion and design. My mother was my muse. In the '90s, while other children were playing with dolls, I was sewing outfits for my Barbies. My mother taught me how to hand-sew stuffed animals—those whimsical creatures with button eyes—and from there, my journey began. I sewed everything I could, exploring my creativity one stitch at a time. Fashion became my language of self-expression. In middle school and high school, I never adhered to one style—I embraced them all. Whether I was wearing a gothic look, a preppy ensemble, or streetwear, fashion allowed me to show who I was without words. However, as the eldest in an immigrant family, there was immense pressure to pursue a secure career. I found myself on a medical path, following the expectations placed upon me. I worked hard, putting myself through college and building a career in some of Boston’s largest hospitals. But it wasn’t me—I felt unfulfilled. So, with courage, I made the bold decision to leave and follow my heart, which led me to the bridal industry. It was there that I found my true calling. I fell in love with every aspect of it and knew I had finally found where I was meant to be. The journey has been transformative. I’ve learned that passion isn’t something that fades—it persists, waiting for the right moment to bloom. La Fleur, my first collection, symbolizes my growth as a designer and the beginning of something beautiful. It represents a step toward inclusivity in occasion wear, embracing all sizes and styles with open arms. I hope La Fleur inspires you as much as it has inspired me, and I look forward to sharing many more designs in the future.
