We hosted our second meet up at Diego’s in Chicago. Grateful for our guest speakers including the talented Denisse Soto (entrepreneur & beverage director at Cari?o Restaurant) and Carolina González of Urban Bar LLC. They both expressed their growth experiences in hospitality as women in the spirits industry and how to advocate for pay equity. Our “Women in Spirits†meet ups are designed by a femme team and hosted by Argelia Martinez. The golas are to: ?? Create a safe space that centers the contribution of women in the spirits & beverage industry- inclusive of femme bartenders, entrepreneurs, spirits owners, sommeliers, and Mexican or Latina-owned wine owners ?? Commit to a quarterly schedule and shape future conversations based on seasonality and making healthy connections ?? Center the voices of women and we welcome allies ?? Exchange resources and support each other If this speaks to you, we are looking for sponsors that match these values. Our 2025 schedule is out. We are so excited to feature guest speaker Crystal Dorado, owner and founder of Verde Holistic Wellness Studio, to lead us in a Cacao ceremony next time we meet. We are so excited to plan with heart-led leadership. Join us in Chicago! Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gbGXVb9J

?? Inspiration for the month:?Tacombi, a taqueria founded in Mexico, has a business model worth studying! According to AdWeek, Tacombi started serving food in a?Volkswagen Bus (aka a combi) in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, Tacombi now has 15 restaurants in 5 cities, with plans of reaching 75 restaurants by 2026. In 2023, they?secured?$27.5 million in funding to?open a facility and hire an acclaimed Mexican chef.?Through their Tacombi Foundation nonprofit, the brand?partners with community organizations?such as NICE, Miami Rescue Mission, Mixteca, LSA and Community Food Rescue to tackle the challenge of food insecurities in the communities they serve. They donate over 8,000 fresh meals weekly through these local partnerships and over 600,000 meals overall. Source liked below. Their generosity combined with their appetite to transform how we connect people to Mexico through food and beverage feels revolutionary & soul-led because of their ability to change lives while making profit. More of this, please! https://lnkd.in/gGAdTamM
