Here are ten typical questions that are asked about a campus digital twin: 1. What is a digital twin campus??A digital twin campus is a graphically created, 3D version of campus buildings that is faithful to the size, scale and look of the real thing. The campus can include a conversational AI tour guide at no additional cost. 2. How do students get onto a digital twin campus??Students access the 3D digital twin campus either through a virtual reality headset, a personal computer or a Chrome/Safari browser. 3. How is a digital twin campus used for student recruitment??Universities and colleges provide free access to the campus through an Internet browser so that students may roam the campus, experience it and have a two-way conversation with a tour guide AI avatar. 4. How does the AI tour guide know what to say??The AI tour guide is able to draw from both proprietary information which is given primacy, as well as the large language AI model, usually OpenAi. 5. How do we integrate simulators onto a digital twin campus???Many schools will include a simulator with the campus. Mixed reality is a strength of the new Quest 3S headset. Yes, it does virtual reality very well, but mixed reality - that intersection of visually seeing the world around you while you also have a graphically created 3D experience embedded into the real world - is amazing. Yes, amazing. There is very little mixed reality education content for the Quest 3S - 99% of content is virtual reality. But, VictoryXR has a mixed reality product known as VXRFusion. Meta & VictoryXR Take the Metaversity Movement to Europe ?"As part of an ongoing effort to embed virtual reality (VR) in education, Meta?has launched?a new partnership with a slew of universities in the U.S. and U.K., designed to provide feedback on a new product that Meta hopes will finally make VR just a little more mainstream. The new Meta for Education beta program will see Facebook’s parent company partner with 13 educational institutions, which will get access to an early version of a product that Meta has been teasing for a while already. In a?blog post?on Monday, Meta said it wants to “make it easier for educators to discover interactive and engaging content,” spanning subjects such as science, medicine, history, and language arts. Ahead of the program’s formal launch, universities will be tasked with testing VR and mixed reality (XR) prototypes in class, ahead of a more formal launch in the future. The universities include: Arizona State University, Houston Community College, Imperial College London, Miami Dade College, Morehouse College, New Mexico State University, San Diego State University, Savannah College of Art & Design, The University of Glasgow, University of Iowa, University of Leeds, University of Miami, and University of Michigan. Meta also said it’s bringing its “digital twin” metaversity program to Europe, starting with the University of Leeds in the U.K.; University of the Basque Country in Spain; and the University of Hannover in Germany.
