Virtua Health loves their Alicia's Art Carts! "Throughout hospitalization, kids have little autonomy.?As a Child Life Specialist, it is our job to find all the places where we can empower them with choices.?Thanks to Alicia Rose Victorious Foundation, we are able to give our adolescent patients every choice possible when it comes to craft kits, art, jewelry making, and more.?Allowing kids the chance to engage in activities they enjoy can help the time go by faster." - Christina C.?

Yulisa, a patient at John’s Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, found a creative outlet with the help of Alicia’s Art Cart.?The Child Life Specialist asked Yulisa to list things she disliked about cystic fibrosis on a large sheet of paper. Then, with paint-filled syringes, they transformed the list into a colorful burst of defiance.?This art therapy session wasn’t just fun – it empowered Yulisa to express her challenges and face them with a positive spirit!

As part of our Teen 'Welcome' Kit program, we include a T-shirt that engages hospitalized kids to talk about what they are STRONGER THAN.?Sometimes we hear,?"I'm stronger than a cup of coffee", or?"I'm stronger than my badly behaving T-cells".?What are you stronger than? Young patients love their Teen 'Welcome' Kits. They especially appreciate that someone thought of them, at their age, and appropriate items to include. This courageous teen immediately took to using all the items in her Teen Kit.?Our mission to improve the quality of life for hospitalized children through our?Victorious?4 Teens?programs.
