Featuring more than 350 objects that chart the evolution of the house’s legacy of art, design and craftsmanship since the turn of the 20th century. The exhibition will include show-stopping objects, jewels, gemstones, watches and clocks from the V&A and Cartier Collection, as well as previously unseen drawings from the V&A and Cartier archives, together with works lent by His Majesty The King from the Royal Collection, major UK and international museums, and private collections. We’re pleased to announce that Baroness Minouche Shafik has been appointed by the Prime Minister as the new Chair of Trustees of the Victoria and Albert Museum.? ? Minouche Shafik is an economist, policymaker, and higher education leader who has spent over three decades in leadership roles across a range of prominent international, national and academic institutions. She was the youngest-ever Vice President of the World Bank, Deputy Governor of the Bank of England, Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, President of Columbia University and of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). ? A happy 10th birthday to the V&A Wedgwood Collection! Nestled in the heart of the Staffordshire Potteries, the V&A Wedgwood Collection tells the story of creativity, community and centuries of change through a unique collection of 175,000 objects. To honour the milestone, the Collection has acquired 60 contemporary creations by Wedgwood. Highlights will go on permanent display from Autumn 2025, including a set of bone china plates by Sheila Bridges which harness a traditional pastoral motif from the French toile style - and a bold hand-painted urn, made from reclaimed Jasperware by Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY. The new permanent display opening is as part of a new public events programme to mark the 10th anniversary. Many happy returns!
