??????Happy women’s history month!??????
VSC was founded fifty years ago by a group of women in Montgomery County who recognized that there was a need to provide immediate support for women who were victims of rape. VSC started as an all-volunteer organization serving women and evolved over the last 50 years into a nonprofit comprehensive crime victim agency serving victims of all crimes. VSC also expanded its programs to include prevention education and community outreach. VSC staff are trained sexual assault counselor advocates, volunteers and interns guided by administrative executive leaders with extensive experience in nonprofit management and trauma informed care. VSC’s board of directors, a majority of whom are women, represent various professionals committed to donating their time and expertise to support the mission of VSC.
