Empowering our community to restore lives impacted by crisis, violence, and tragedy.
关于我们
ABOUT US OUR MISSION is to empower our community to restore lives impacted by crisis, violence, and tragedy. OUR PURPOSE is to provide 24-hour crisis intervention, advocacy, and education to victims of crime and trauma and the professional community who serves this population. OUR HISTORY In 1972, help was non-existent for crime and trauma victims. In response to their overwhelming needs, Captain John Cunningham, Stella Long, the late Richard Kinsinger, and Robert Denton came together to form Victim Assistance Program. Formalizing services in 1974, under the leadership of Robert Denton, Victim Assistance Program pioneered comprehensive services from the crime scene through the criminal justice system, in a unique collaboration with the police, prosecutors, and the courts. Today, that tradition continues, and our community relationships allow Victim Assistance Program to help thousands of individuals transition from hardship to healing each year. Click here for our expanded history. At Victim Assistance Program we empower our community to restore lives impacted by crisis, violence, and tragedy. We help over 5,000 individuals each year through crisis intervention, advocacy, and education to both victims and to those in the professional community who assist them. All of our services are FREE. All you need to do is call 330.376.0040 or visit www.victimassistanceprogram.org to chat.

We lost a great one. Rev. Dr. Robert Denton peacefully passed away in his sleep Saturday night. Bob, husband to Marian, friend, mentor, professor, minister, confidant, and founder of Victim Assistance Program and Safety Forces Support Center, has impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands across our nation. Bob will be deeply missed, never forgotten, and always a part of those who knew him well. Toward the end of the month, information about services will be shared for those interested in participating. We love you, Bob. May you rest in peace.
