VIBE celebrated National Engineers Week with some team-building fun at The Escape Game in Tampa! Splitting into two groups, we took on different escape rooms, putting our problem-solving skills to the test before wrapping up the day with a company happy hour. It was a great way to connect outside the office—full of teamwork, strategy, and plenty of laughs! Their imaginative drawings showcase a world of possibilities—floating hotels, robots, and, most notably, flying cars, a theme woven into many of their futuristic visions. ?? ????????????????????, ????: A visionary cityscape featuring a flying car. ?? ??????????????, ????: A futuristic hotel with floating suite pods, teleporting vestibules, and flying cars—because in the future, getting around should be as fun as the destination! ??? ????????????, ??: A life-size robot walking the dog—because, in her words, “the robots might take over someday.” She also designed a flying car and a bed with hot and cold sides for ultimate comfort. ?? ??????????????, ??: Robotic, heart-shaped butterflies that flutter through the sky, and maybe even delivering messages in the future! These young minds remind us why inspiring the next generation matters—today’s creativity fuels tomorrow’s innovations. Celebrating Our Team: Meet Hadeer Elzahaby! We are excited to spotlight Hadeer Elzahaby, a talented Traffic/Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Specialist at VIBE! Hadeer holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the City University of New York, College of Staten Island, and brings three years of experience to the team. Her expertise includes preparing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) plans, designing signing and pavement markings, traffic signals, and lighting, as well as conducting traffic studies. Before joining VIBE, Hadeer gained valuable experience as a Project Engineer, where she worked on integrating communication systems, including fiber optics, IP surveillance, public address, A/V, and access control systems. Her tasks included creating technical system drawings, testing, configuring, and troubleshooting system devices, conducting field surveys, and collaborating with contractors to ensure project success. Outside of work, Hadeer enjoys exploring restaurants and cafés. As a big coffee lover, she delights in sampling coffee in all its forms and flavors. She also loves going for walks and appreciating the beauty of nature.

Yesterday, our team came together for our annual volunteering event with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, where we helped sort and prepare toys for children in need this holiday season. This incredible initiative, supported by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, spreads the joy of Christmas and offers a message of hope to economically disadvantaged children across the country. ? After a productive morning of volunteering, we enjoyed a festive holiday lunch at Hula Bay, celebrating the season and strengthening our connections as a team. ? We are honored to support such a meaningful cause and to help make the holidays brighter for others!

We are thrilled to share that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 Wrong-Way Vehicle Detection Systems (WWVDS) project has been awarded the 2024 Greater Tampa Section of ITE (GTSITE) Project of the Year! This impactful project, led by FDOT District 7 and supported by VIBE has made significant strides in improving road safety in Tampa Bay. By installing over 21 Wrong-Way Vehicle Detection Systems in 2022 and expanding the program, this initiative addresses wrong-way driving incidents on over 100 interstate ramps in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. Using cutting-edge radar, thermal sensors, and LED signs, the system detects and alerts wrong-way drivers, notifies the Traffic Management Center (TMC), and enables rapid law enforcement response — saving lives and reducing crashes. Its manufacturer-neutral, open design also paves the way for future technological advancements, supporting FDOT's "Target Zero" goal of eliminating traffic fatalities in Florida. The award was accepted by Megan Arasteh, PE, FDOT’s Project Manager, at the GTSITE Annual Banquet. We are honored to have been a part of this life-saving project and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to safer roads in Florida.

We are excited to announce the newest addition to the VIBE family, Samia Rubaiat, PE, RSP1, who joins us as a Traffic/ITS Engineer. Samia brings a wealth of experience in traffic operations, ITS design, safety analysis, and more, with a background in both public and private sectors. Her expertise will be instrumental in supporting our continued growth and commitment to delivering innovative transportation solutions. Please join us in welcoming Samia to the team!

As we close out National Hispanic Heritage Month, we want to highlight the rich diversity within our VIBE family. Today, we’re proud to feature Fidelis Souza, PE, who shares about his Brazilian heritage and how it shapes his life.

Meet David Serrado, EI, an Engineer Intern at VIBE. Of Ecuadorian American heritage, David attributes much of his strength and identity to his Latin roots. Hispanic Heritage Month holds special significance for David, as it provides the chance to honor the rich traditions, values, and history of his culture. It is a time to celebrate the resilience and strength of the Latin community and embrace the beauty that comes from the fusion of diverse cultures. ?
