At Viasomatic, we believe when we listen to the wisdom of our body, we heal our mind. That's why we work to help people evolve their relationship with their whole self. Stress is kinetic. It is designed to move us. When the stress cycle is not completed it can become locked in as bodily tension. Locked in stress can either keep our 'fight or flight' system too active, flooded with too much excitatory information, or it can shut down our 'rest and digest' system, leaving us with not enough activation for proper functioning. We guide people to recover their nervous system so they can reduce the impacts of stress, reduce the impacts of trauma, and improve their mental wellness. Our yoga therapists are knowledgeable in the neuroscience of stress and trauma, skilled in therapeutic movement practices, and supportive of your needs. The Viasomatic method uses yoga therapy (specifically yoga-based movements and breath patterns) to mimic defensive stress responses to complete the stress cycle and move your nervous system back into equilibrium. We offer Free Primer Programs, Chair & Mat Programs, Chair Accessible Programs, Live Group Programs, and Live One-on-One Programs leading to better mental wellness. Here’s how: It Shapes Perception: Your nervous system filters information from the environment, determining whether situations and people feel safe, neutral, or threatening. This perception can affect how you interpret someone’s tone, body language, or words. It Drives Reactions: Your responses to others—whether calm, defensive, or avoidant—are often governed by your nervous system’s state. For instance, if you're in a heightened state of stress, you might misinterpret neutral behavior as hostile. It Communicates Nonverbally: Your nervous system constantly sends cues through your body language, tone of voice, and facial expressions. These cues signal to others whether you are approachable, calm, or distressed, influencing their response to you. It Influences Connection: Co-regulation, the process where nervous systems sync up with one another, is a key aspect of relationships. A calm, regulated nervous system can create a sense of safety and trust, fostering deeper connections.
