Thank you Island Institute and the team from The Sea Up team for highlighting the work we are doing, where we've come, and what we are trying to accomplish! The fight to reduce plastic in our ocean and create solutions for ocean and land based farmers is our mission and we're getting closer everyday. As we move into our pilot production phase we look forward to continuing to grow our network. #plasticfree #solutions #oceanhealth #startup #innovation #leadthroughchange #missiondriven
Could seaweed be the game-changer in the fight against plastic pollution in our oceans and food systems? Katie Weiler, founder of Viable Gear, is on a mission to find out. She's researching and developing seaweed-based plastic alternatives for fishing and aquaculture gear, collaborating with entrepreneurs like Deer Isle Oyster Company to move toward a future far less reliant on petroleum-based plastics. Hear about their journey and the groundbreaking potential of these new materials in the most recent episode of Island Institute's podcast, From the Sea Up.
