I was honored to teach at the Howard University School of Business during the AltFinance 2025 HPS Center for Financial Excellence Asset Management Conference last week. On Friday, I taught two ViableEdu classes focused on how to use a Bloomberg Terminal in Asset Management in the Howard University Bloomberg Lab. I led students through an overview of asset management followed by an interactive session that included a Bloomberg Terminal scavenger hunt and a lesson on how to pull Bloomberg data into MS Excel. I was also able to attend a number of the AltFinance panel discussions throughout the two-day conference, including a fireside chat with Raymond McGuire and Godfrey Gill, as well as a fantastic conversation with Tashni-Ann Dubroy, Dr. Curtis K., Marcus Shaw and Marshall Williams. ViableEdu would like to thank Kevin Richards, MBA for joining our 2025 Bermuda Finance to Fintech Programme as our first Coffee Chat Guest Speaker. Kevin has spearheaded a number of fintech initiatives as the founder of the Bermuda Innovation & Technology Association (BITA), a consortium for fintech companies that are interested in being or are already licensed under Bermuda's digital asset legislative framework. Kevin is also a Managing Director at Bermuda Asset Management and sits on the boards of ASU Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences and Triangle Digital. Thank you again, Kevin. Applications are now officially open for our sixth annual Summer 2025 ViableEdu Fintech Apprenticeship Program, a four-week virtual financial education bootcamp specifically designed to prepare students for early careers in finance. The 2025 ViableEdu Fintech Apprenticeship Program will provide students with five prerequisite ViableEdu modules followed by a specialized training pathway chosen by the student, focusing on either Alternative Investments, Capital Markets Fintech or Entrepreneurship. Classes will take place from 8 - 9:30am EST over Zoom, as well as a weekly networking Coffee Chat.
