    This weekend, while the snow softly fell in the Cascade and Leavenworth Mountains, a group of 25 committed community, physician, and executive leaders from Confluence Health gathered to develop their collective vision for locally-led, comprehensive, high-quality healthcare for their rural communities in North Central Washington state. As someone who regularly leads groups through retreats like this, I can tell you the work is not easy. I was awed and humbled by this group of leaders who were vulnerable, honest, and all-in with their dedication to their communities, their board’s excellence, and their organization’s success. Hats off to the board and executive team members for an outstanding retreat and highly productive weekend. Thank you for giving your time to do this important work. And, bonus for me, I met a new rising star in the field of healthcare quality, Dr. Dami Weinrich! A special thank you, to board chair Cori Bautista, vice chair Vicky Scharlau, CEO Andrew Jones MD, MBA and all the Confluence Health leaders!
