The Vermont Gallium-Nitride Tech Hub, a consortium with UVM, GlobalFoundries, and the State of Vermont, is preparing to become a global leader in the semiconductor tech sector. Gallium nitride semiconductors can accelerate technological advancements, and make products smaller, less expensive, and more energy efficient. A visit today by the US EDA Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy Cristina Killingsworth confirms the value the US government sees in supporting our plans for workforce development and advancement of this technology at our Tech Hub. “The Vermont Gallium Nitride Tech Hub in Burlington, Vermont, embodies the spirit and potential of the Tech Hubs program to take centers of excellence and make them world-class tech ecosystems through targeted investments,” said Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. “That’s precisely why I’ve asked Deputy Assistant Secretary Killingsworth to travel to Vermont with a team to meet with leadership and provide technical assistance on their strategy.
