Employee Pet Spotlight: Meet Bentley! ?? Bentley is a lively 6-year-old German Shepherd and a beloved companion of Becky C., our QC Assistant at Vets Plus! Known for his boundless energy, Bentley is all about the great outdoors. During the summer, you’ll find him happily running, jumping, and playing in the irrigation, cooling off while having the time of his life. This mischievous pup has his own unique take on “fetch.” Bentley prefers to play take, where he swipes a “treasure” and waits for you to come to him! In fact, he’s been known to “borrow” work gloves from county workers a few times in hopes that they’d join in on his playful antics! We’re lucky to have this spirited, clever dog as part of the Vets Plus family, keeping us on our toes with his playful personality. We are excited to spotlight Jessie Migawa, our Quality Manager and Lead SQF Practitioner. Jessie has been with Vets Plus since 2016. She provides invaluable support to the company by managing and maintaining GMP and SQF standards. Jessie is our expert where audits are concerned. She is responsible for managing certification, customer audits, and regulatory inspections, along with the resulting follow-up actions. Jessie also leads the internal audit team which verifies the effectiveness of the quality system by conducting audits and walkthroughs. Jessie is proactive in identifying and preventing quality issues. She drives the continuous improvement initiatives by collaborating with production teams while applying her deep understanding of regulatory standards in manufacturing. She analyzes quality issues, identifies root causes, and implements effective corrective actions. Although Jessie’s responsibilities could make her a dreaded figure on the manufacturing floor, she is highly respected as a bridge between Quality and Production. She is known as a patient teacher who will engage in discussions and explanations instead of bringing down the hammer and walking away. While Jessie might demand a batch be thrown away because it doesn’t meet quality standards, a lesson is always learned. She doesn’t shy away from making difficult decisions when it comes to high-quality products for Vets Plus’s customers. Her expertise in addressing quality issues and paying close attention to detail makes it no surprise that Jessie is a fabulous baker. The office birthday party is very well attended when Jessie has made the cake! And you can forget about the boring office lunch if Jessie has planned the potluck. It is a testament to Jessie’s professionalism, knowledge, good nature, patience, and coaching that she does not create enemies while holding our team to high standards even when it requires tough decisions.
