Headed to DFW this Wednesday for the 2nd year in a row to attend the #VeteranEDGE. Looking forward to seeing old and new friends this week as my way to end Q1 and to move into Q2. Q2 & Q3 are typically my busiest part of the year and this conference really builds on the momentum. This is also a chance for my Veteran Lifestyle Magazine and Veteran Social Summit teams to meet up annually. Wow! I had the privelege to be part of an incredible Veteran's Mental Health & Wellness Panel at the CCME Conference in DC. Our fearless moderator Adam Rocke really shaped the conversation to cover the really relevant topics our audience wanted to know about. The BLUF - a great conversation on the mental health issues that impacts our student veteran community. My contribution as VetsForever, VA Accredited Law Group discussed driving both awareness and educating our student veteran community on the VA disability benefits they earned. Helping student veterans identify where to go for assistance so they main gain additional financial stability lowers both the stress and anxiety. As a non-traditional student, this goes a long way especially in that first year of transition. Alot more work needs to be done but this is a great first step! Thank you to my fellow panelist! At VetsForever, we were grateful to be involved in community Holiday events that helped bring joy to veterans and military families this season. Through the One Tribe Foundation's Season of Giving campaign, we donated blanket kits, which provided hands-on fellowship time for local teenagers and veteran families. These blankets will be donated to veterans visiting VA and Valor Healthcare Centers, bringing warmth and connection to those who served. We were also proud to contribute to Higher Ground_HG Foundation's Toys for Tots drive, ensuring that children in military families received the joy of presents this Holiday season. Marine Toys for Tots Foundation The Grapevine Police Department’s Santa Cops program brought smiles to over 800 children, as they were able to grant their holiday wishes through the generosity of the community. Additionally, Wreaths Across America honored the service and sacrifice of our nation's heroes by placing wreaths on veterans' graves, ensuring they are remembered during the Holidays. It was a privilege to be part of these impactful initiatives and help make the season brighter for so many. ??
