EVOLOH has signed a supply agreement with a U.S.-based #renewable #energy developer for 0.5 GW of #electrolyzer #stacks. The supply is secured through a non-refundable deposit that applies to the purchase cost once EVOLOH completes its Lowell, MA, Manufacturing Center of Excellence. ? I had the incredible privilege of speaking at Harvard Business School, guest lecturing in Professor Vikram Gandhi’s course, Development while Decarbonizing – India’s Path to Net Zero, which examines the balance between advancing basic development goals and achieving decarbonization in developing economies. The session was made even more special by the presence of former Top Gun Pilot and Instructor, and now Senior Lecturer at HBS, Jim Matheson, who also shared his invaluable insights with the class. Our discussion focused on the unique challenges and opportunities in clean tech entrepreneurship, with a global lens: The distinctive characteristics of entrepreneurship in the climate space, and how they intersect with innovation and policy. Contrasts between clean tech entrepreneurship in the Global North and Global South. My personal journey, including the Ohmium story—our motivations, challenges, and successes to date. Reflections on green entrepreneurship in India versus the United States, highlighting the similarities and stark differences in scaling sustainable ventures. Insights into the evolving economics and global use cases for Green Hydrogen, with a focus on India's growing leadership in this area. It was invigorating to engage with such a sharp and passionate group of students, sharing lessons from our journey at Ohmium while learning from their fresh perspectives. Gary Ruvkun, our new Nobel Prize laureate in physiology or medicine, shared a touching story about how he overcame self-doubt and regained his self-confidence, after he was awarded his new Nobel Prize: “From 21 to 24, I was a disappointment to anybody who was thinking about where my career might go. I lived in my van and planted trees in the Pacific Northwest. But then I spent a day reading Scientific American, it was a really good day, and I said, you know what? Maybe I go to graduate school? And so, I came to Harvard.” “There were these mythic professors, just these unbelievable great scientists, so I was exposed to just great science over and over and over again. That was the moment when recombinant DNA was really just starting to take off, and it was obvious that was a revolution, and I wanted to be a part of that.” Gary Ruvkun's journey from self-doubt to a successful scientist exemplifies the transformative power of role models.
