Recently, we had the privilege of helping a fellow veteran diagnosed with terminal cancer fulfill one of his lifelong dreams—attending a Detroit Lions game. ???? In the face of his challenges, this veteran reminded us all of the power of hope, resilience, and the importance of coming together as a community. For him, this wasn’t just a game; it was a moment to celebrate life, connect with his family, and feel the love and support of the community around him. This is what VETLIFE is all about. These baskets weren’t just about providing a meal to veteran families —they were about showing gratitude, sharing kindness, and ensuring no veteran goes without this holiday season. Thanks to the incredible support of Kroger and Region 9 Veterans Community Action Team, our volunteers have been hard at work preparing 400 Thanksgiving baskets for veteran families. Tomorrow, these baskets will be distributed in Washtenaw and Livingston County to show gratitude and support to the veterans in our community. Dear Veterans, You are LOVED!!!! ?? Each year, through our Harvest for Heroes program, we partner with a different school district to bring heartfelt messages to veterans. Teachers and staff members have students create cards or letters to veterans as a part of their Veterans Day lesson plan. Following Veterans Day, VETLIFE collects these letters and includes them in Thanksgiving baskets for veteran families. This year, Fowlerville Community Schools amazed us with their incredible participation, with students from Kindergarten through 12th grade contributing thoughtful cards and letters. We can’t wait to share these with you and hope they bring a smile to your face this holiday season. ??????

Joshua and Cortnie Parish, founders of VETLIFE, were honored to participate in the first-ever national summit addressing the critical topic of medication’s role in veteran suicides. Organized by the Grunt Style Foundation, the event delved into the dangers of overprescribing medications and its connection to the alarming rates of veteran suicides. Joshua spoke openly about his personal journey, offering insights into the struggles veterans face and how VETLIFE is actively working to provide a healthier living for veterans today.
