Our hearts break for those who have been impacted by extreme wildfires in California. Climate change is taking the places we love. Spreading awareness about climate change is one of the best ways to fight it. Let’s start protecting the people, place and ANIMALS we love! #ScienceMoms @ScienceMoms https://lnkd.in/gTUAnVcM
It was wonderful to work with Terryann Chebet, MBA on the carbon calculator project! Our whole team learned so much in the process and we are thrilled to be able to share her excellent work with the USA veterinary community!
Cheers to our talented AGSA member, Terryann Chebet MBA CPA 4 as she completes her Impact MBA degree at Colorado State University. Terryann is indeed resourceful and forward thinking, especially when it comes to sustainability. We are so happy to have seen her achieve this degree! She designed a tool to calculate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from veterinary clinics through a collaboration with Veterinary Sustainability Alliance and the model was aired the same day as her graduation! The tool is called Veterinary Carbon Accounting for Local Clinics (V-CALC). Her passion and drive is truly inspiring and we know she will make groundbreaking success in the coming years of her career. Congratulations, Terryann! We are so proud of you!

The new The Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change is out, once again highlighting the need for rapid climate action. Check it out below!
?? The Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change’s latest report shows record breaking health threats from climate change. While climate action is limited by a scarcity of funding, financial resources continue to be allocated to activities that harm health and hinder the transition to net zero greenhouse gas emissions. ? These investments jeopardise people’s wellbeing, health and survival which heavily depend on phasing out fossil fuels?? ? These investments further escalate climate risks for future generations ? These investments set us up for financial turmoil as we pursue a liveable future People’s health must be put front and centre of climate change action to ensure the funding mechanisms protect wellbeing, reduce health inequities and maximise health gains, especially for the countries and communities that need it most. Elanco's new feed additive, Bovaer, approved by FDA for dairy cattle that can reduce methane emissions by 30%. Feeding to 1 million cows each year would be equivalent of removing 285,000 cars from the roads in the U.S. https://lnkd.in/e5-gAngm
