On June 12, 1948, President Harry Truman signed the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act into law. This groundbreaking legislation marked an important step towards women’s equality, allowing women to serve as regular members of the armed forces. We continue to honor and recognize the brave women of the military every year on June 12th #VetsOrganize #WomensArmedServicesIntegrationAct

“If we desire a society of peace, then we cannot achieve such a society through violence. If we desire a society without discrimination, then we must not discriminate against anyone in the process of building this society. If we desire a society that is democratic, then democracy must become a means as well as an end.” - Bayard Rustin American activist and leader for civil rights, nonviolence, labor and gay rights
