As a member of the California State Guard, she recognized a significant gap in military-specific legal services and established VLI to provide tailored, pro bono support to veterans in need. Under her leadership, VLI's dedicated team of 28 serves nearly 1,000 veterans annually, focusing on those who are low-income, at-risk, homeless, or disabled. ? Veterans Legal Institute has had the privilege of serving veterans through different organizations and has worked countless times with the Orange County Veterans and Military Families Collaborative and Congressman Lou Correa to advocate on their behalf. Today, as discussions around proposed federal budget cuts continue, many veterans are left wondering how these changes could impact the benefits and services they rely on. Yesterday VLI participated in a critical community discussion led by Congressman Lou Correa, alongside incredible veteran-serving organizations.
