I attended Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa Impact Monday. I was surprised that their guest speaker was Dr. Delatorro McNeal II, MS, CSP, CPAE . It was amazing to get an hour of nuggets worth thousands of dollars for free. What was more amazing was that I learned his father is a Vietnam Veteran and was the National Director for Paralyzed Veterans of America. Bam! That was my alignment! His stepmother is his dad's giver. That aligns with my Veterans Counseling Veterans new program called Serving Our Elderly Veterans. --- Have you attended a Veteran Affairs Mental Health Summit? One of Veterans Counseling Veterans' many functions is to attend VA Mental Health Summits in VISN 8. These gatherings serve as an invaluable opportunity for Veterans Counseling Veterans, enabling us to observe how each VA Medical center On the 25th of September, I had the privilege of attending the Orlando VA's Mental Health Summit. The event was a hybrid format that blended both in-person interaction and virtual engagement, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for all participants. One of the standout moments for me was the opportunity to meet and interview Dr. Diana M. Mendez was responsible for organizing and coordinating this vital summit. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to William Castillo story of resiliency and triumph. As I look forward to more summits in the near future, I am filled with anticipation to further contribute to these discussions, advocating for the mental health needs of our veterans and building a stronger, more connected community. I had the honor of meeting George Wm. Tinsley, Sr. Wm. Tinsley, Sr. at Larry Mitchell CFBDC monthly meeting at the Well in Lakeland. It was definitely my God assignment to be at that meeting.
