Self-improving agentic workflows: Everyone talks about them, but how do they work? Why aren't people building them? Could this be the reason that my social life has been non-existent for the past 5 months? The answer might surprise you! Previewed below is a Vessium workflow using LLM-as-a-judge to score outputs based on some abstract goal defined in natural language. If outputs drop below a certain threshold—or our agents deem a certain set of outputs to be less than desirable—we can automatically provide the entire context of these workflow runs to a reasoning agent. The reasoning agent will then use a multi-step process to review the full context of each run—every node, as well as every node output—to determine how we might optimize our workflow to reach that predefined goal. It will then make adjustments to the workflow—using Vessium's text-to-workflow feature set—and re-run those workflows under the exact same conditions in which they failed. If our agents can eventually iterate to a point that your workflow outputs can consistently reach that threshold, we'll notify you so that you can review these adjustments manually. ... all while you're fast asleep ?? While allowing humans to talk to their workflows is a fantastically-convenient short term goal that has allowed me to monetize the building of this platform around real-world data, the long-term benefits of such a fine-tuned codebase are exponentially more impactful. The vision of Vessium is all about building the foundations for agents to talk to workflows; for agents to understand and automate business operations; and for agents to dynamically generate new workflows that can break down complex processes into simple, modular tasks. Turning a random assortment of token generators into an extremely organized swarm of unlimited, recursive potential. Self-improvement is a very important aspect of this vision. Preview time! Agents are inherently non-deterministic. One small tweak in the middle of a workflow could mean 5x more accurate outputs.
