What if your past data held the clues to shaping your future success? From optimizing fleet maintenance to predicting fuel consumption and even reducing cloud costs, historical maritime data holds immense untapped value. The challenge? Metabolizing this often chaotic, disorganized resource into timely, targeted insights. A recent Veson survey found that 73% of maritime professionals see data timeliness as critical, but fewer than half feel their systems deliver it effectively. Solutions like IMOS Data Lake help bridge that gap—automating access to historical records, providing inputs for AI tools, and supporting real-time decision-making. The future of shipping is data-driven. Are you making the most of yours? Seemingly small delays in accessing and interpreting relevant information can cost thousands of dollars in the form of a missed trade or operational oversight. Two-way native workflows between Shipfix and the IMOS Platform bring critical operating data into a single workspace, making it easy to spot opportunities. Together, Chartering and Operations can work with greater agility and avoid missing a ship or cargo. "One of the standout features for our team has been how Shipfix integrates directly into IMOS, reducing the time spent toggling between different systems,” shared Konstantinos Stais, Delia's ICT Manager. “The ability to view cargo lists and fixtures directly in the same platform where we manage our voyages has already streamlined our workflow.” he added. 2024 was a dynamic year for the Bulker market, shaped by robust activity across newbuildings, sales, and a restrained demolition sector. The newbuilding market experienced continued growth, with a notable rise in orders, particularly in the Post/Panamax and Capesize sectors. Chinese owners dominated with 142 contracts signed, accounting for c.28% of all orders. The country’s prominence in both ordering and shipyard production remains a defining trend, further consolidating their position in the Bulker industry. Secondhand values saw significant growth in the first half of the year, particularly in the Capesize segment, driven by increased ton-mile demand and solid earnings. However, weaker sentiment in the final quarter led to a significant correction. The declining secondhand values could lead to some interesting investment opportunities in the dry bulk sector as we move into 2025.
