The VERTIKAAL automated manner of creating a state-of-the-art 5D BIM is a new and absolute departure from AutoDesk. The veritkaal software platform stands alone and is not dependent on other design software. Core to the VERTIKAAL platform is its ability to auto-generate designs. These designs can then be altered at the swipe of a finger (think SimCity) within a gaming environment. The output is 5D BIM data, which can be directly used for cost estimating and scheduling. Within the VERTIKAAL platform, building designs can be replicated in design and form, simply and intuitively and in an automated manner, and be adapted to different sized lots in most any location. VERTIKAAL creates a huge opportunity to rapidly propagate green and energy efficient buildings anywhere in the world, while eliminating laborious and unnecessary work in design and estimating.

    CPO at ADAXIS

    Last week, I shared a few videos of live multi-axis robotic printing at the Maintenance Fair in Gothenburg, Sweden. The printed geometries were all part of a large structure, modelled after the nose cone of a wind energy tower. I am happy to be able to share a video of the assembled structure below. To achieve these double curved parts without support structure it was necessary to print on a curved substrate. The substrate itself was printed with angled slicing and machined to its final shape. The printing was monitored with thermal cameras to understand the impact of the relatively long layer times. The live printing was as collaboration between ADAXIS,?ADDICT3D,?RISE Research Institutes of Sweden,?ABB, KFM Maskin,?SICK Sensor Intelligence?,?Micro-Epsilon, RSP,?and Troax AB?with support from Svenska M?ssan.

    Now this concrete-printing robot follows a different drummer! Printing on the flat, you might say. Shotcrete over rebar with a buff! Either way, when you upright the cured product what you get are offsite concrete printed steel reinforced solid structural retaining wall components! Clean and strong! Although you’ll still need that truck and crane. Imagine if this bot and a mixer could be moved from site to site to somehow print slab foundations at less cost than a pour. Aeditive.
