Rod is the feed mill manager at Center Fresh Group and has been with the company for eight years. Rod starts his day by putting a game plan together and manages the repair and maintenance schedule. He also monitors the inventory of ingredients, feed in the houses and the feed quality. Rod enjoys the people and farmers he regularly works with and appreciates that Versova is community and mission-minded. Rod and his wife Dawn have five daughters, two sons and 10 grandchildren. In his free time, he likes traveling with his wife, being involved with his church and watching his kids and grandchildren participate in extra-curricular activities.?

Meet Aaron Chaney, Flock Manager at Trillium Farms! Since joining the team just over a year ago, Aaron has been dedicated to managing the health and wellness of 14 flocks using the Feed Light Air Water (FLAW) guidelines, all while leading his team. What does he love most about his job? Being part of the production team and ensuring hens have an exceptional environment to produce quality eggs for our customers. He also values Versova’s commitment to giving back, from community involvement to supporting local organizations through donations. Outside of work, Aaron enjoys dinner theatre and stays active training at the gym or spending time outdoors hiking, kayaking and walking his dog. He also serves as a director on the Knox County Fair Board.

Last week, members of our Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Finance teams gathered under the Arizona sun for our annual Sales Kick-off Meeting.?? Our goal was to collaborate on solutions to better serve our customers during these turbulent times. ? Here’s what we accomplished: ? Aligned the team on 2025 priorities ? Launched new sales tools to boost efficiency and collaboration ? Created a Sales and Operations Taskforce to tackle challenges head-on ? We also celebrated our 2024 Outstanding Performers:? ?? Our January Employee Spotlight is Jon Shurtliff, Director of Business Systems and Analytics at Oakdell Egg Farms.?? ? Jon has been with Oakdell Egg Farms for four years. In his role, he enjoys the variety of his work and not having a “typical” day. Jon hosts meeting calls with Oakdell customers, provides tech support in English and Spanish, assists with HPAI recovery efforts and analyzes data in Power BI. He enjoys continuously improving and designing business solutions to make processes and data more easily accessible for making smart business decisions. Jon appreciates all the amazing employees behind the scenes and how Versova feels like a family.?? ? He has been married to his wife, Natalie, for 24 years and they have four children. Jon loves to stay active by mountain and road biking, trail running and hiking. He is also involved in his church and hosts three Red Cross blood drives each year.?? ? Thanks for all you do, Jon! Please join us in welcoming Steve Snyder as Versova’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO)! Having previously served as CFO at a number of organizations, Steve brings extensive experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis, reporting and acquisitions. He plans to leverage his expertise to support Versova’s growth objectives and drive success. ? Steve received a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa. He is an active member of his community and is a current board member of Youth Mental Health Services (YSS). ? Guided by its four philanthropic pillars of hunger relief ??, first responders ?? ??, youth in agriculture ?? and mental health ??, the Versova Community Foundation proudly supports communities where our employees live and work by raising funds and providing grants to registered non-profit organizations. Last year, we supported Promise Community Health Center in building a new mental health wing, expanding access to essential care. Just last week, we donated to the Sioux Center Fire Department and Sioux Center Ambulance, aiding the purchase of new emergency vehicles and tools. These efforts reflect the values that guide us as an organization and are made possible by the collective commitment of our Versova team, whose dedication helps strengthen the farm communities we call home.
