Many companies are finding that PPAs can't support decarbonization efforts AND reduce energy costs. So they're turning to marginal abatement cost curves to get a holistic picture of possible decarbonization pathways. Our latest blog, by VP of strategy Shehzad Wadalawala, provides an overview of how abatement curves work and how companies use them to plan and evaluate carbon reduction measures. We had a wonderful time at the Renewable Thermal Collaborative Summit in DC this week! It was very exciting to see so many large energy users pursuing electrification projects to decarbonize their thermal energy. Our CCO Matt Penfold got a lot of questions after his electrification panel, during which he highlighted the importance of performing electricity tariff and wholesale market analysis as part of the decision-making process for electrification of industrial heat. #electrification #sustainability #renewables #RTC2024 #renewablethermal

Exciting update on green hydrogen tax credit rules from Heatmap News! Very curious what "middle ground" Treasury has found between the three pillars advocates (additionality, location-matching, and time-matching) and the non-additional / offset advocates.... Hopefully, the promised clarity will help restart the hydrogen projects that were put on pause earlier this year. https://lnkd.in/gNFNUZhs

Although this Utility Dive article focuses on the impact of the recent Fed rate cut on solar manufacturers and developers, lower interest rates have implications for corporate (and consumer) power buyers, as well. High interest rates increased clean energy prices for companies, and while this reduction doesn't eliminate that challenge, it will help make corporate renewable procurements more attractive to finance teams. https://lnkd.in/d_VdpHgs #cleanenergy #renewables #investment #sustainability

We're excited to sponsor the #RTC2024 Summit at the end of this month in DC!? Hosted by the Renewable Thermal Collaborative, it's a unique event where large institutional and C&I energy users working to decarbonize meet to accelerate renewable thermal solutions. Given the timely topic, the event is sold out, but you can join the registration waitlist here:?? https://lnkd.in/gXQQ9SwM #renewables #innovation #energy #decarbonization

This week's vPPA risk management tip: watch out for volumetric risk. Volumetric risk occurs when a variable renewable resource's actual generation differs from the forecasted generation. The sun isn't always shining, and the wind isn't always blowing, and this inherent variability can significantly affect the revenue generated from the vPPA. Want to know how to manage volumetric risk? Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gkj2n7TJ #energy #renewables #cleanenergy #solar #wind
