A beautiful day for Manufacturing Day! Today we had the pleasure of participating in Effingham County (IL) Chamber Manufacturing Day! We welcomed two groups of area high school students to tour our facility and introduced them to the world of industrial automation. We walked them through our process of custom design, machining and fabricating, machine build, wiring and programming. We love to be able to show these young students the exciting careers available right here in Effingham!

Today we had a little fun #automating a SOLIDWORKS model to have a representation of the actual motion and speed of this panel flipping machine. Seeing the equipment at true speed helps to gauge initial estimates for servo actuators & motors. It also helps the customer get a better feel for the machine that's being built.

First set of 24 trolleys ?? are ready to ship. It was a push but the team pulled together to get everything assembled, tested, and packaged. I love seeing designers, assemblers, programmers, and project managers all building equipment to pull work forward to meet a customer request and grow relationships. ?? Even the engineers were turning wrenches this week. ?? ??

There's nothing special here. #Relax and watch the coolant pour over this aluminum block. It transforms from a chunk of aluminum to a precision instrument used in an #industrialmachine. The program was created in?Mastercam?, uploaded to the ?Okuma America Corporation?machining center. The machine will auto tool change & cut the block without the #machinist intervening.
