关于我们
Verra works to provide standards for a sustainable future that address pressing environmental and sustainable development issues. Through robust standards, we help accurately quantify benefits and drive investment in responsible, high-performing projects and programs. We work closely with partners in civil society, governments and the private sector to develop novel frameworks and enable results on the ground. Our flagship standard, the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program, is the longstanding leading standard in the voluntary carbon market. Since our start in 2009, Verra has expanded our work into new arenas based on increasing demand for social and environmental standards. Today, a growing staff with operatives around the world manage our standards and programs, including the Climate, Community & Biodiversity Standard, the Sustainable Development Verified Impact Standard and the Landscape Standard. We consistently work with our partners to ensure that our existing and new requirements reflect the most current knowledge and global best practice. We are steadily expanding the scope of Verra to respond to the need for new, forward-thinking standards, with a focus on market-based, workable solutions to thorny social and environmental challenges. Verra was originally founded by a collection of business and environmental leaders who saw a need for greater quality assurance in voluntary carbon markets. Our founding partners - The Climate Group, International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) and The World Economic Forum - convened a team of global carbon market experts to draft the first Verified Carbon Standard requirements. World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) joined the effort soon after.

?? Verra has launched a secondary tier of projects to pilot its new?Scope 3 Standard (S3S) Program and to adapt an additional three VCS Program methodologies. These projects represent a special category of pilot projects, “discovery pilots,” that will operate more autonomously to feed back into the S3S Program design. ?? The inclusion of these discovery pilots will expand the diversity of sectors (to include finance and forestry), locations (to include South America), as well as different project types and models in which the S3S Program is tested and refined, ultimately leading to a more robust and broadly applicable program. ?? Truterra, LLC will be adapting and piloting VM0041 Methodology for the Reduction of Enteric Methane Emissions from Ruminants through the Use of Feed Ingredients, v2.0 ??Rabobank will be adapting and piloting VM0047 Afforestation, Reforestation, and Revegetation, v1.0 ??American Forest Foundation will be adapting and piloting VM0045 Methodology for Improved Forest Management Using Dynamic Matched Baselines from National Forest Inventories, v1.1 Read the full announcement: https://bit.ly/3OjvTSH #Scope3 #CarbonMarkets #ClimateAction #StandardsMatter #Verra

? Let’s explore the incredible impact of the Deekali Plastic Recovery Project! The first project in Africa to be registered with Verra’s Plastic Program and developed by Africa Carbon & Commodities, this project illustrates how the finance from Plastic Credits can help scale plastic waste management in a Least Developed Country while supporting local communities. This pioneering initiative works with local communities in Senegal to combat plastic pollution and improve livelihoods. Here are some key numbers that highlight the Deekali Project’s success:? ?? ?? 300+ local jobs created, fostering sustainable employment??? ?? 4,076 metric tons of plastic waste removed from the environment??? ?? 5,200 tons of plastic repurposed into valuable community resources??? ?? Over 50% of Deekali workers are women, promoting gender equity in the workforce??? ? ?? The Deekali Project stands as a beacon of hope, showing how innovative waste management can lead to a cleaner environment and improved livelihoods for collectors.?
