Focused on innovation, equity and policy governance, the professionals at the Vermont Agency of Education are committed to the success of all Vermont learners. The agency serves over 295 schools, approximately 163 school districts and 53 supervisory unions across the state. We provide leadership, support and oversight to communities and local education leaders. Our goal is to ensure that the Vermont public education system enables all students to be successful. We work with local, state and national partners to lead innovation and manage change in Vermont education. We provide policy expertise to the Executive Branch, the Vermont State Board of Education and the General Assembly on education issues. We work with school boards, education professional organizations and community stakeholders to develop innovative policy to benefit Vermont students. Current areas of focus for the agency include: * Personalized and Proficiency-based Learning * Flexible Pathways and Career Readiness * School Governance Reform * Policy Governance * Special Education Funding * Education Finance * Data and Reporting We are working to build a 21st-century education system in Vermont.
