    This post ISN'T about politics. My concern transcends who sits in office. This IS a fundamental shift in priorities regarding AI DEVELOPMENT. And it THREATENS the public and creative professionals everywhere. What's causing me HEARTBURN: 1. Taking away commitments to develop content authentication 2. Throwing out language about labeling synthetic content 3. Shifting focus to "expanding America's global AI position" at any cost What it reveals is a terrifying priority: Content provenance be damned! Winning a technological race against China is more important than ethical guardrails or the livelihoods of creative human beings. This is certain: if we throw out our commitment to transparency and authentication in AI dev, we open the door for staggering deception. We also sacrifice real human careers in writing, visual arts, music, and voice acting. Creators and audiences deserve protection no matter which administration or party has the power.
