Our geothermal heat pump system project in Jackson County is heating up! MLive.com snapped a photo of construction crews working near the Jackson County Human Services buildings (shown here) on Oct. 28. The new heating and cooling system will enhance operational efficiency across all county-owned buildings. “’I know that this is going to help Jackson for the next 25 years,’ [board Chairman Steve] Shotwell said. ‘It’s going to save us money. We were able to do other capital projects because we did this.’ The scope of the work for Veregy’s contract also includes energy efficiency improvements at the Jackson County Airport, landfill, courthouse, Department of Transportation, Northlawn building, Tower building and Youth Center.” Read the full article here: https://hubs.li/Q02X6c_t0

On Friday, October 17th, Veregy and Arlington Municipal Airport held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the launch of its solar array project promoting the benefits of renewable energy. This solar array is the largest general aviation solar installation in Washington State. With a total capacity of 87.5 kW of DC power, the installation features solar panels on car canopies and rooftop panels on the airport office. It is projected to generate nearly 145,000 kWh of renewable energy each year, significantly offsetting the airport’s electricity use and reducing its carbon footprint by approximately 2,500 metric tons of CO? over the project’s lifespan.
